The Philadelphia Speakers Series concludes Monday night at the Kimmel Center. Attendees at the WHYY-sponsored event heard from renowned journalist and author Tom Brokaw, who spoke with NewsWorks Tonight's Dave Heller to preview his presentation.

He shares his thoughts on changes in nightly news broadcasts, increased competition among news sources, and how to get to the truth from a complicated, and at times overwhelming, news stream.

Monday he spoke about his latest book, "The Time of Our Lives: A Conversation about America." A transcript of live tweets from the event follows.
