It's bike to work day and a contingent made a strong showing at Philadelphia City Hall.
City Councilman Alan Domb wore a suit while commuting to his office on an IndeGo rental bike. He didn't follow the group on the planned route, saying that has never been his thing.
"I'm not sure they are going to invite me back next year because I went off target a little and came up 18th Street instead of the typical route. I think I had you up in arms a little. But that's ok, I like following a different path."
Former Philadelphia Flyer Brad Marsch still works for the team and says he bikes 800 miles a month including commuting from New Jersey to the Sports Complex several days a week.
" Eleven miles of my 13 mile commute are dedicated bike lanes including the Ben Franklin Bridge which is awesome to ride across, it's an awesome ride, and a safe ride more importantly."
Philadelphia is in the midst of expanding protected bike lanes. Bike to Work Day is sponsored annually by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.
