A major Philadelphia corporation will move 13 blocks — and some big state incentives to do so.

Aramark Corp. officials searched for a new location for the food and facilities services giant and found one virtually in their own backyard at 2400 Market Street, said CEO Eric Foss.

"And we're excited because it's going to continue to give us the ability to attract some amazing employees, not only now but in the future, in a vibrant city in a beautiful state." Foss said.

Mayor Jim Kenney said he was happy to see the major city employer staying.

"Located in Philadelphia for 55 years, the company employs 1,200 people within the city and 6,800 in the Philadelphia region," the mayor said.

The company handles everything from industrial uniforms to facilities management and stadium concessions.

Pennsylvania offered more than $20 million in training and neighborhood improvement grants for the project.

The new headquarters is expected to be ready in 2018.
