Experts say self-injury videos could normalize behavior

Temple University social work professor Jonathan Singer says watching a self-injury video on YouTube won't encourage someone to suddenly engage in self-harm. But doing so could encourage other self-injurers to harm themselves more frequently -- or even post their own videos.

WHYY's Maiken Scott talked to experts about the effects self-injury videos can have on young people.
