New research offers insights into how brain connections change when learning new motor tasks.

Scientists at the University of California found clusters of new connections between emerging brain cells as mice were learning new tasks, and performing them repeatedly.

Psychologist Dan Gottlieb says this kind of research can also shed light on changing behavior patterns. He spoke with WHYY Behavioral Health reporter Maiken Scott:
