Snubbed: Glasgow doubles for Philly in new Pitt flick

Philadelphia has a long history of cinematic stardom. But in an upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller starring Brad Pitt, it seems a stand-in city has stolen the show.

Thanks to the hard work of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, more and more big name stars and bigger budget flicks have been shot in and around the city.

But when producers from World War Z decided to film their project in Glasgow, Scotland instead of Philly it was a tough pill to swallow. According to Curbed.com, the loss of this $40 million project was an especially crushing blow for the GPFO's Sharon Pinkenson.

She told the Inquirer at the time: "This is huge. This is a killer. I was devastated about this. We lost jobs that people were counting on."
