Campbells, Pepperidge Farm fills hole left by Hostess

Cookie competitor Pepperidge Farm has filled the Twinkie-shaped void left by Hostess Bakery when it closed its doors last November.
According to Philly.com, Campbell Soup Co.'s executive officer cited extra shelf space in a call about the company's most recent earnings.
Less competition means more profit for the Campbell's subsidiary, Pepperidge Farm. The exact amount that cookie shelf space has on profit increases remains unknown, but the company did see a six percent spike in its "global baking and snacking segment."
