Join Margaret Winslow, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art, and Centennial Juried Exhibition artists as they explore artistic trends and themes found throughout the exhibition. November 10: Nature with artists Dennis Beach, Brent Crothers, and Bruce Garrity. December 1: Everyday Objects with artists Delainey Barclay, Dan Schimmel, and Sabina Tichindeleanu.
Celebrate the bounty of the fall harvest as you create a fresh arrangement to adorn your table. In this hands-on workshop, create a unique centerpiece using fresh flowers, dried fruit, fall foliage and other fall accents. All materials included. Edgar Allan Poe has never been more fun! Presented by Rufus W. Griswold, colleague & competitor to Poe, these shows will help students learn and remember Poe’s works by making the “Master of the Macabre” enjoyable and accessible. Audience volunteers will play integral arts in every interactive performance. Stories include: The Black Cat, Tell-tale Heart, Cask of Amontillado and a staged reading of The Raven. About one American in seven has some degree of dyslexia. It's a condition that makes it hard to learn to read the same way other people do. With some special techniques, taught or self-invented, most people with dyslexia, many of whom are brilliant, talented, and successful, can learn to function normally. In this comic documentary, dyslexic director Harvey Hubbell V — with assistance from dyslexic writer Jeremy Brecher and several dyslexic crew members – will present the latest scientific knowledge about dyslexia and the experiences of those with dyslexia.
