Some Philadelphia school students are learning about the city court system through a series of unusual mock trials.

Goldilocks is accused of eating all of Baby Bear's porridge without permission to, and sitting in Baby Bear's chair, breaking it.

Members of the Philadelphia Bar Association joined with judges and court staff to put on mock trials based on nursery rhymes, with children as the jury. Attorney Kim Nguyen was playing one of the three little pigs. She says the trials have a simple mission.

"We do this so that kids get exposure not only to City Hall but to the Philadelphia court system in a good and positive way," said Nguyen.

Judge Annette Rizzo says the cases are not cut and dried.

"Particularly in the Big Bad Wolf trial we actually have some mitigating factors we actually have a doctor expert, an allergist talking about how Mr. Wolf had some allergies in the spring that brought about the sneezing fits that brought those houses down," Rizzo said.

The verdict is in: Goldilocks was found guilty.
