Barnegat Bay's stinging jellyfish problem continues
Barnegat Bay's stinging nettles, the area's most common stinging variety of jellyfish, are worse than ever this year.
This year, the jellyfish arrived right at the beginning of the season.
Paul Bologna, an associate professor at Montclair State University, and a team of students from the university and two Montclair High School students from the Weston Scholars program are hoping to figure out why these jellyfish thrive so well in the bay with a three-year study.
For now though, the beachgoers in Barnegat Bay will just have to watch out for the stingers.
