The fire that ravaged Kensington’s Thomas W. Buck Hosiery building, causing the deaths of two firefighters, has started a citywide conversation about delinquent property owners.

The factory’s owners owed back property taxes, had unpaid water bills, and numerous outstanding code violations. That’s the Holy Trinity of delinquent property ownership.

On this week’s It’s Our Money podcast we’re talking to our city service reporter, Juliana Reyes, about how the city deals with deadbeat property owners – and why its efforts sometimes don’t work.
