Amoroso says Philadelphia plant will stay despite driver layoffs

Amoroso's Baking Co. boss says the company's Southwest Philadelphia plant isn't going anywhere. Teamsters raised concerns when the company sent layoff notices to its drivers, but boss Len Amoroso says there are no plans to move to the Vineland, N.J., plant.

The 77 drivers have first crack at the chance to buy their routes through loans, as the Inquirer reports, saying many drivers make up the more than "60 individual corporate distributors" the company will work with.

Terms for the loan agreements haven't been disclosed.
