2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia, the Supreme Court decision that overturned state laws banning marriage of people between different races.

The case involved Richard and Mildred Loving, a white man and a black woman who were jailed and then forced to leave their home state of Virgina after marrying because that was one of 16 states where interracial marriage was illegal at the time.

To mark the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision, the producers of the Loving Project podcast have been interviewing couples in our region to tell stories of people interracial marriage today... and we're joined now by the producers of the podcast, Farrah Parkes, who is black and her husband, former WHYY News Anchor, Brad Linder, who is white.

They spoke with NewsWorks Tonight's Dave Heller. Listen to the conversation below.
