April 21, 2012By Marilyn S. D'Angelo
By enlisting the help of as many picnickers as possible, The Nature Conservancy hopes to set an international, Guinness World Record this Earth Day.
Here in Philadelphia, the sponsored picnic is happening at Clark Park in University City from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday, April 22. According to uwishunu.com, the event will be held in all 50 states, as well as in over 30 countries, around the world.
Individual picnics are also being welcomed into the Guinness Record fold: the rules of individual picnic participation are available on The Nature Conservancy’s website.
If successful, Picnic for the Planet will be named the world’s largest multi-venue picnic, within 24 hours beginning on Earth Day, April 21, at 8pm.
