Poll:
When is the best time of year to go down the shore?
Spring. The air is sweet and the boardwalks are empty with affordable prices to boot. - 8%
Early summer. It's hot out, but with kids still in school, I don't need to fight for a spot on the beach. - 12%
The full flush of summer. I love the energy of a full Jersey Shore. Bring on the crowds! - 20%
Autumn, please. Fewer people, less humidity and the water's still warm. - 56%
Dead of winter. Bring me cold desolate beaches, and I'm a happy camper. - 4%

We're coming up on the busiest time down the shore. The last two weeks of July and first two weeks of August hit that tourist sweet spot.

You're almost guaranteed hot beach weather yet still have plenty of time to get ready for back to school (and for that last sunburn to fade).

But not everyone — myself included — thinks the best time of year to hit the beach is in that full summer heat.

So take our poll and let us know when you think it's the best time to go down the shore.
