Philly area leads state in driving-while-texting tickets
It's been almost nine months since Pennsylvania's no-texting law went into effect. And according to numbers released by AAA Mid-Atlantic, the five-county Philadelphia region leads the state in the number of tickets issued to drivers who have chosen not to abide by the new law.
In a story reported by the Delco Times, these numbers show that of the 796 citations issued statewide, 355 of them came from the Philadelphia area. That's 45 percent of the tickets in a region that make up only about one third of the entire state's population.
