Arlene Ackerman honored today during afternoon memorial service

Bright Hope Baptist Church

A memorial service for the former Philadelphia School District Superintendent Arlene Ackerman will be held later today at a church in North Philadelphia.

The service will be held at 3 p.m. at the Bright Hope Baptist Church, at 1601 North 12th Street.

Ackerman passed away just last month at the age of 66 after suffering from pancreatic cancer.
