Delaware's Brandywine Zoo closed until further notice
The Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington will be closed until further notice after a large oak tree fell on its monkey house.
The tree fell on the building on Friday. Zoo officials say no people or animals were harmed, and no animals escaped.
The News Journal of Wilmington reports that the tree was removed from the badly damaged roof of the building on Saturday. Visitors to the zoo's website are being advised to check daily for news of when the zoo will reopen.
Zookeepers had to evacuate 24 small monkeys and one bird after the building was damaged. Fire officials say the building will be condemned.
The Brandywine Zoo is Delaware's only zoo and draws about 80,000 visitors a year.
