New Jersey's Emergency Operations Center has opened as officials monitor a winter storm.

The storm threatens Jersey shore towns that were hard hit by Superstorm Sandy. Brick Township and Toms River have called for voluntary evacuations in flood-prone areas.

A coastal flood warning is in effect from 1 a.m. until 8 a.m. Thursday from Sandy Hook to Cape May.
Wind gusts of up to 50 mph could down power lines. Gusts of more than 30 mph are being reported around the state.

The National Weather Service says mixed precipitation will change to rain Wednesday before changing back to all snow toward Wednesday night.

Forecasters say temperatures are expected to remain above freezing. However, accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are possible.

NJ Transit will start cross-honoring tickets at 2 p.m.
