Drexel Law Professor Participates in Nationwide effort to Oppose Sessions Nomination
Jeff Sessions is preparing to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday; the start of confirmation hearings as well as his quest to serve as U.S. Attorney General under Donald Trump. That service would come at the displeasure of a collective of law school faculty opposing the nomination.
Drexel Law professor Richard Frankel was one of the many law professionals who signed the letter expressing disapproval toward Session’s nomination. He joined NewsWorks Tonight’s Dave Heller to explain the pushback.
Frankel says not only does he oppose some of Sessions' past actions, he says comments made about immigrants from the Dominican Republic make him question how the Trump administration would even handle legal immigrants.
