Main Street Manayunk's Bisou Bistro annouced last night that they will be closing their doors.

Jane Lipton, executive director of the Manayunk Development Corporation confirmed that the restaurant is now shuttered.

"It's disappointing," Lipton said, "it's always disappointing when you know the staff has put so much into it," she continued, adding that she believes a lack of parking in the area due to a lot across the street being closed for nearly two years was an obstable "impossible to overcome."

Initially dubbed Gemelli on Main when it opened in May 2011, the restaurant underwent renovations and was rebranded Bisou Bistro earlier this year. In August, they opened a second-floor deck

"I think [Chef Clark Gilbert] is a great chef and I hope he goes on to do something great," said Lipton. She found out about the restaurant's plans to close on Sunday and has begun preliminary talks about what will come in its place.

A message left for Gilbert was not immediately returned.
