YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School won $250,000 from the Chase Community Giving challenge, which allows people to vote for their favorite nonprofits via Facebook, and is entering the next round with hopes of winning $500,000.

The school helps former high school dropouts between the ages of 18-21 to earn diplomas and trade certifications in order to transition from high school into post-secondary schools such as college and trade schools.

YouthBuild is the only Philadelphia nonprofit that has made it to the second round of the competition.

YouthBuild will use the prize money from the competition to help graduates transition from high school into post-secondary schools such as college and trade schools.

You can vote for YouthBuild here beginning tomorrow.
