It's two years of unsupervised probation for Rabbi Saul Kassin. A federal judge decided against prison time for the 89-year-old spiritual leader of the Syrian Jewish community leader.

Kassin was fined $36.750 for his role in a money laundering and political corruption scheme that involved four other rabbis, and has agreed to forfeit $370,000 to the federal government, as the Associated Press reports.

WHYY's Phil Gregory will have more on this story later today.
