Governor Tom Corbett has announced two new programs aimed at saving the lives of Pennsylvanians during emergency situations.

CBS3 reports that both of the programs focus on emergency contact information.

Yellow Dot
Participants in the Yellow Dot program will fill out a form with emergency contact information and keep it in their car's glove compartment. They will be given a yellow sticker, to place on the vehicle's rear window. In the event of a crash, emergency responders will see the sticker and know whom to contact after an accident.

Emergency Contact Information
Those with a Pennsylvania driver's license or PennDOT ID card who participate in the Emergency Contact Information program will have the opportunity to log into a secure database and list two emergency contacts. Those who do will be able to update the information as needed. Emergency contact information will only be available to law enforcement.
