Feds announce results of Philly crime partnership

Federal authorities say dozens of people faces charges as part of a two-month partnership with the Philadelphia Police Department aimed at reducing violent crime in targeted neighborhoods.

Attorney General Eric Holder announced the Violent Crime Reduction Partnership over the summer. On Wednesday, authorities announced the results of the surge of resources between June and September.

The U.S. Attorney's Office charged 92 defendants in 77 indictments involving a variety of violent crimes. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives made more than 100 arrests and seized 81 firearms.

U.S. Marshals arrested more than 300 fugitives. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency made 258 arrests, seized more than 540 pounds of illegal drugs, nearly $1.5 million and more than 30 firearms.

The FBI made more than 140 arrests.
