Temple University’s Fox School of Business presented Korman Communities founder Steven H. Korman with its Musser Excellence in Leadership Award at a dinner held Nov. 14 at Temple’s Mitten Hall.
Among the 400 guests were UGI chair and CEO Lon R. Greenberg, Fox School of Business namesake and chair of the Fox Companies Richard J. Fox, Temple board of trustees chair Patrick J. O’Connor of Cozen O’Connor, Temple president Neil D. Theobald and Sharon Pinkenson of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office.
Tyler Mathisen of CNBC, hosted the event, which was cochaired by Korman’s three sons, Bradley, Larry and Mark, Lynne and Harold Honickman of Canada Dry Delaware Valley, and Stephen Klein of the Klein Company.
Korman, who recently made a $240,000 donation in support of Temple’s recently announced five-year, $100 million fundraising campaign for student scholarships, surprised 20 Temple School of Tourism and Hospitality Management sophomores attending the event with an additional gift. Korman announced that he would increase his original scholarship gift from $10,000 to $12,000; and the award would no longer be competitive, but given to all 20 student finalists.
