The Anti-Defamation League celebrates Americanism at annual awards dinner
The Anti-Defamation League held its annual Americanism Award Dinner Nov. 28 at the event venue Vie, on North Broad Street, raising nearly $400,000 for the nonprofit. The evening kicked off the League’s centennial anniversary, with offices around the country celebrating the ADL’s 100th year through 2013.
The dinner for 400 guests honored Rosemary Turner, president of UPS Chesapeake, and featured a performance by Philadanco.
The event was chaired by Renee Amoore of the Amoore Group, Mary Stengel Austen of Tierney Communications, Daniel J. Hilferty of Independence Blue Cross, Harold Yoh III of Day & Zimmerman, David L. Cohen of Comcast, William Sasso of Stradley Ronon, Harriett Weiss of CRW Graphics, and Michael C. Carbone of TD Bank.
Proceeds benefit ADL’s programs such as No Place for Hate, the A World of Difference Institute, and the Bearing Witness program.
