More than 1,000 guests attended the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania’s 13th annual Red Ball, held March 9 at the Please Touch Museum. The red-tie benefit raised more than $400,000, the most ever for any SEPA chapter single-day event, breaking last year’s record.

After sampling food prepared by some of Philadelphia’s top chefs, guests voted Devon Seafood as their favorite restaurant. American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania CEO Renee Caldwell Hughes presented the glass award to Devon Seafood General Manager Harry Weckerley and Executive Chef Scott Carroll.

Guests danced the night away to music provided by CTO World Entertainment Productions, enjoyed museum exhibits, and rides on the museum’s 1908 Dentzel carousel. The VIP Room featured cuisine by R2L chef Daniel Stern, live entertainment by local jazz artist Gerald Veasley, and a cigar bar.

Proceeds from the event will support the Red Cross House, a short-term housing facility for disaster victims located in West Philadelphia.
