An estimated crowd of 60,000 music lovers descended on Dover, Del., last weekend, as the second annual Firefly Music Festival once again took over the Woodlands area adjacent to Dover International Speedway.

For three days, more than 60 musical acts performed on four stages, including rock legends The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Despite heavy southbound traffic delaying many patrons' arrival on Friday, the vibes were positive once everyone made their way into the festival grounds.  This year's festival doubled in attendance from the inaugural event, which was held in July of 2012.

That success has already assured that there is much more music to be made in Dover for years to come; in addition to announcing that next year's festival will be June 20-22, the festival organizer, Red Frog Events, has reached an agreement with Dover International Speedway to bring a festival to The Woodlands for the next 10 years.
