Open Data Philly indeed. As part of Philly Tech Week, the city unveiled Monday steps toward making its data accessible to journalists and the public. Though the Open Data Philly website is just a privately designed warehouse for raw data, developers are interested in making that information easier to access, search and use.

In the meantime, City Council has launched new site where the public can search its legislative documents.

Council meeting transcripts, bills, resolutions are more ar available for viewing and downloading. You can search keywords or bill numbers and bring up the full history of a piece of legislation dating back to 2005.

Be warned: Documents on the site aren't certified, so if you need something more official, it's back to the Clerk's Office for you.
