Judge: PHA testimony wouldn't violate secrecy rule

A woman who said she was sexually harassed by the former head of the Philadelphia Housing Authority can testify in the ex-chief's defamation suit against the authority and former board members.

U.S. District Judge Ronald Buckwalter last week granted a request from the housing authority to allow testimony from a woman who brought harassment complaints against Carl Greene.

Greene was fired in 2010 amid investigations of secret sexual harassment payouts totaling about $900,000. He sued PHA over his termination, claiming he was denied due process.

Greene's attorney declined to discuss the order with the Inquirer, saying he wouldn't try the case in the media.

Buckwalter's order denies Greene's motion saying the woman's testimony would violate the confidentiality clause of the settlement.
